I recently downloaded the Beta version of Ubuntu 8.04 that is scheduled for release in April’08 and installed it on this laptop my experience is summed up as:

Out of the box almost everything is working. No special parameters were passed at boot time or needed editing in grub. Sound, Wireless, Video camera and suspend is working. Most amazingly I have the external display switching working perfectly so I do not have to do a restart for getting the external display on a projector. Infra red remote also works.
I still can only get the touch screen to work as tap switch and not as a tablet so this is working partially. I have seen some posts on the net that say that with proper edit of xrog.conf this works. Let me try and see.

The only thing not working yet is the finger print scanner and pam. I am working on it using thinkfinger project – http://thinkfinger.sourceforge.net/

April 25, 2008: Found this resource link with help of a friendly soul on the ILGD mailing list and finger print scanner is working now http://www.ubuntu-unleashed.com/2008/04/get-your-fingerprint-reader-to-work-in.html

Now only to get the stylus working with touch screen.
